EXPLORING THE LANGUAGE ASSESSMENT LITERACY OF TURKISH IN-SERVICE EFL TEACHERS

The purpose of this study is to find out the language assessment literacy (LAL) teachers who teach English at state elementary, middle, and high schools in Turkey. 101 working various cities participated study. A mixed-methods research design was employed study, so data were collected through both quantitative (questionnaires) qualitative (interviews) instruments. for part by means “Teachers Questionnaire” prepared Vogt & Tsagari (2014) under three domains regarding testing (LTA); classroom-focused LTA, purposes content concepts LTA. from questionnaires analyzed via SPSS terms means, percentages, frequencies training levels needs respondents assessment. In phase, a total 18 volunteered take interviews. that gathered semi-structured interviews one their similarities differences, selective coding utilized. overall results indicated EFL work high, middle elementary Turkey perceived all LTA insufficient, they also need further basic those domains. Furthermore, findings supported providing insights into reasons participants’ insufficiency LAL levels.
